6 Finish the ends.

If your garment is made of a lightweight to medium-weight fabric and has a zipper in the back seam, finish the ends with no overlap or underlap. Use one or more hooks and eyes to finish off the top of the zipper.

FAQ

How Do I Make My Own Bias Tape?

1. Decide how wide you want the finished tape to be and multiply that width by 4. This measurement is an approximation of the width of the bias strips you will need to cut.

2. Cut your fabric straight across from selvage to selvage. Then fold the cut edge diagonally so that it matches the selvage. Cut on this folded line. Using this cut (on the bias) as the starting point, cut several strips the width you need.

3. Stitch the ends of the strips together.

4. Press the strip not quite in half lengthwise. Carefully fold the lengthwise edges to the center and press. Try not to burn your fingers with the hot iron.
